2020 Overwintered Nucleus Colony RESERVATION

$25.00
sold out

Now taking $25 reservations as a deposit for each 2020 Overwintered Nucleus Colony. (Photos from our apiary.) This reserves your colony(ies) to be picked up late April or early May 2020 when you will pay remainder of the $200 total. Again, total cost of nucleus colony is $200, so $175 cash to be brought per colony at pickup in Solon, OH in April/May. These colonies cannot be shipped. This deposit is non-refundable. No-shows or cancellations forfeit the $25 without notice and the colony will be given to next customer in line. Max 5 per order/person this year. Our apiary is inspected and approved annually by Ohio State and our bees are treated with brood breaks and oxalic vapor to keep mites in check.

Our 5-frame Deep Nucs (Nucleus) include:

  • 5 deep frames (a mix of wood and plastic possible)

  • 2+ full frames of capped brood

  • Overwintered survivor queen mated July 2019 (Carniolan heritage, but these are mutt survivors dating back to 2013 after moving to Ohio and beginning again)

  • 1+ frames equivalent honey and some pollen if possible

  • Bees covering all frames, and I shake in extra

  • Remaining frames/cells include drawn comb

  • 1 plastic Jester Nuc box that you keep
